Payroll

The primary responsibility of the UPEI Payroll Department is to ensure the accurate and timely payment of our employees. We are responsible for ensuring confidentiality of information, accurately calculating and recording payment and deduction information, and remitting those deductions to numerous external organizations. We are also a vital source of information for various agencies such as Human Resources Development, Statistics Canada, Revenue Canada and various lending institutions.

We are responsible for:

  • preparation of the bi-weekly payroll;
  • payroll deduction administration;
  • confirmation of salary earnings;
  • issuance of all ROE’s;
  • bank deposit systems;
  • liaison with the Canada Revenue Agency and Service Canada;
  • payroll accounting and statistics;
  • personnel information system processing and development;
  • salary and wage implementation;
  • production of Personnel Information System Reports; and
  • database maintenance.
